An Ethnographic Look

Interviewing people in their homes is not ethnographic research.  Our ethnographic studies insert us, the ethno-researchers, into the lives of the consumer, cutting across different snapshots of their lives, from the mundane to the extraordinary moments, the everyday to the spiritual. Our researchers are adept at creating rapport with the subject and getting them to open up candidly about the different aspects of their lives.  Cultural anthropologists and practicing psychologists are at our disposal as well, to help uncover different layers of meaning.

We have done cross-cultural ethnographic research for the automotive industry, the beer industry, packaged goods, retail, foods and beverage brands.

A Video Production

For clients who require it, we have a video-production team that includes bilingual, bicultural videographers as well as editors who have experience in the field as documentary producers and editors.  Our videos are professionally produced and edited with or without narration (ala David Attenborough) and presented in HD to client in person, on the project portal or via DVD.

Ethno Project Portal

Often numerous stakeholders are involved in ethnographic studies, but for a variety of reasons (not least of which is the need to not overwhelm the subjects), most cannot actively participate in the study. We create a customized portal for each project where our in-field researchers blog each session on a daily basis, posting professional quality photography and video on the portal to give clients a view of what is happening in the field without being there. Also, we provide a web app for iPhone and other smartphone users to have all relevant details, directions, documents and other information while in the field.  Email us to obtain access to our demo portal.
